Our generation is known for messing a lot of things up. Many baby boomers always tell me that well will be the cause for the earths demise through technological and ecological problems. I believe our biggest problem today is our ecological footprint that we are leaving. I personally am a ecological nut. So I would do anything to help the environment. My ecological footprint was very surprising to me, it told me if everyone lived like me it would take 4 earths to cater to my likings. According to the graph, service's is my biggest flaw. I use a lot of services such as housing and energy etc.
November 20, 2008 1:00 A.M I decided to start my journey by shutting off all the lights and electricity in my room. This is the first time in years that I did not sleep with the TV on and it was hard to go to sleep. When I woke up I skipped my shower to conserve energy. After that I decided to walk to class and enjoy the day. Unfortunately it was very cold out and I really wanted the heat. After that I went to English class where I re used a old quiz too do my new quiz. After English class I walked back to the dorm where I slept with no air on and the lights off. I re - woke later that day where I went to eat. While eating I made it a point to use one plate, thus reducing the amount of water and energy I'd have to use. After lunch I walked to different destinations and hung out. The night time was the worst for me however, I couldn't use the lights or TV so I went to sleep where my 24 hours ran out.
My 24 hours went pretty smoothly. I reduced my ecological footprint a little bit in the service area. All the other area's also went down. The only thing that rose was my consumption of fish and that is because that is all Andros was serving that day.
